Delivering Meaningful Impact Since 1981
Since our founding in 1981, ODG has been dedicated to delivering exceptional service and quality while making a meaningful impact in our communities. Our foundational philosophy, Do What You Say You Will Do (DWYSYWD), extends into our community involvement, through our dedication to service, quality, and integrity.

The Davoud Foundation
In 2018, we established the Davoud Foundation to provide support during times of crisis or need for anyone within the ODG family. At our annual “All Hands Meeting,” we take pride in announcing the funds allocated to the foundation, consciously making a commitment to our employees and their families.
Old Dominion Group University
In partnership with Chesterfield County Public Schools, Old Dominion Group created Old Dominion Group University. This 12-week program aims to advance the English literacy and speaking skills of our field crews with personalized resources including laptops, textbooks, and a mix of in-person and virtual training. Our craftsmen are our biggest asset, and we recognize the importance of investing in our team members whether it is in the field or in the office.

Annual Community Toy Drives
Each holiday season, The Old Dominion Group embraces the spirit of giving through our community toy drives. These events take place at all of our ODG offices, with a different department spearheading shopping for the toys each year. To expand our reach, we also collaborate annually with the Associated Builders & Contractors Virginia Chapter to host a joint toy drive. This partnership allows us to collect a greater number of toys, spreading joy and holiday cheer to more children and families across our communities.
Partnering with Nonprofits to Drive Change
Our commitment to community service is showcased through our ongoing partnerships with these impactful organizations:
- ACE Mentor Program:
The ACE Mentor Program of RVA introduces high school students to careers in architecture, construction, and engineering through hands-on mentoring, real-world exposure, and scholarship opportunities. Its mission is to inspire and prepare the next generation of industry professionals while expanding access to career pathways. We are proud to support this mission, with VP of Operations Nick Ivey and President of ODF Scott Armstrong serving as board members helping guide and support the program. At ODG, we actively participate in program events such as Trades Day and volunteer opportunities for mentorship or support, reinforcing our hands-on commitment to serve our community. - ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation:
The ASK Foundation aids families of children with cancer by providing emotional, financial, and educational support. This cause is particularly close to the heart of the ODG family, and our support extends throughout the year. We are honored to be a presenting sponsor of the ASK Above & Beyond Gala. Our support is enhanced by the generosity of our employees, many of whom contribute through weekly automatic donations, which ODG is proud to match. - Autism Society Central Virginia (ASCV):
The ASCV provides helpful education, advocacy, services, and resources for individuals with autism and their families. At ODG, we actively engage in advocacy and prominently participate in events such as the ASCV gala and the annual 5K & Family Fun Day, significantly contributing to raising funds for local autism support. - Mustaches For Kids:
Mustaches For Kids is a volunteer-run organization that collectively grows mustaches and solicits donations to support local charities. A significant number of our ODG team members participate in this annual event and have raised over $87,000 for this organization. We take great pride in supporting such a meaningful cause and are honored to be a part of this creative initiative. - Virginians For Veterans (V4V):
Virginians For Veterans is a charity organization that supports veteran support groups for active and retired veterans across Virginia. Roddy Davoud, founder of Old Dominion Insulation, champions this cause as the main chairman of V4V. He is joined by Richard Lee, President of Old Dominion Firestopping, who also serves on the board. Their collective leadership not only inspires our team but also reinforces our commitment to supporting those who have served our country.
ODG is also proud to support numerous other organizations, including:
American Cancer Society, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, Feedmore, Housing Families First, Henrico Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Sportable, RMHC Richmond, Youth Life Foundation of Richmond, Virginia American Heart Association, Monacan High School, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington
