Celebrating the 2026 ODG Internship Class
Every summer, ODG welcomes a new class of interns eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in our industry. Through meaningful opportunities in the field and office, our internship program immerses students in our culture while preparing them for the next step in their careers.
Each year, we continue to evolve the program, building on past successes to create an even more impactful experience. We love seeing the program grow and improve as we build on new ideas and bring in new departments. Our goal is for every intern to leave with valuable knowledge, meaningful relationships, and real-world experience that will serve them well beyond their summer at ODG.
This year ODG offered three types of internships:
Field Management Internship

New to 2026, our Field Operations interns spent the summer alongside experienced field leaders, understanding what it takes to successfully manage projects in the field. By shadowing the Field Operations team, they learned how to coordinate crews, maintain safety and quality standards, communicate with customers, and keep projects running efficiently.
Working directly with our skilled Construction Managers, the interns developed a deeper understanding of the leadership, planning, and problem-solving required to support our field teams and deliver projects with the quality and efficiency that ODG promises.
Project Management & Estimating Internship

Our Project Management and Estimating interns began their summer alongside our field teams, learning how insulation is installed the ODG Way. This hands-on foundation prepared them to review drawings, coordinate projects, and support our teams with greater confidence.
Throughout the summer, interns worked on active projects, followed a dedicated job from start to finish, and received guidance from our knowledgeable Estimators and Project Managers who supported their professional growth every step of the way.
Business Development Internship
Our Business Development intern gained valuable experience in building relationships and supporting ODG’s continued growth. Through strategy meetings, business operations, and client interactions, they developed a deeper understanding of how ODG prioritizes building strong relationships and how thoughtful planning helps drive long-term success.
Capstone Presentations
To conclude the summer, each intern will present their capstone project to ODG leadership, highlighting what they learned, the projects they supported, and the experiences that shaped their internship. The presentations gave interns valuable professional presentation experience while allowing leadership to hear about their growth.
Lunch & Learns with Ride Along

Interns participated in Lunch & Learn sessions with ODG’s affiliate companies to learn how each team contributes to our success. They visited local job sites with each affiliate, giving them a firsthand look at each of our specialized services and how our affiliates collaborate on every project.
Building Connections Beyond the Job Site
At ODG, we believe strong teams are built both on and off the job site. Through intern socials and networking opportunities, interns built lasting relationships with peers and team members while experiencing the culture that makes ODG unique.
Reflecting on the Summer
As another internship season comes to a close, we’re grateful our interns chose to spend their summer with ODG. Watching them grow in confidence, developing new skills, and embracing our culture has been incredibly rewarding.
Before heading back to school, we asked our interns to reflect on their experience and share what they learned, what challenged them, and the moments that made the biggest impact. Here’s what the 2026 ODG Internship Class had to say:

My favorite aspect of this internship is getting experience with many different parts of the construction industry with preconstruction, project management, and what it is like to work in the field for a few weeks. What has surprised me is the size of the company compared to how it feels like you can talk to anyone no matter how high their position is, and it shows that they care about the development of the people they work with.
Ethan Smith, Project Management and Estimating Intern

My favorite aspect of this internship is the culture. It is a very supportive group and feels like a family. I think I was most surprised at how I fit in with the company. I was worried that I wasn’t going to grasp what goes on here, but ever since arriving there have been zero feelings of not being able to do it. I have learned so much, and even though sometimes I feel like I’ve learned all there is to know about ODI or another ODG company, there is always more. I think I enjoy this industry because it is very connection based and people that do the right thing and are good to their clients will win in the long run. I love coming to work at ODG, which is really saying something!
Jackson Cherry, Project Management and Estimating Intern

Through my time so far, I have been out at the job site but also spent weeks in the office. Since May 18th, I have been a part of a community that values teamwork, safety, and most importantly team building. The support that is given to everyone in the office is unlike any other. Old Dominion Group fosters an environment where hard work and respect create a positive workplace and helps drive success in the office and at the construction site. I have learned to a greater extent what it means to be a project manager in the field and behind a desk.
Jack Reid, Project Management and Estimating Intern

My favorite aspect so far has been getting to know all the sides of construction. It’s been exciting to see the process firsthand, and the ODG team has been super helpful with answering questions. I’ve learned so much with estimating and project management and gained valuable experience.
Emily Espina, Project Management and Estimating Intern

I have definitely enjoyed the Project Management side of the business the most. ODG has surprised me with how good the culture is everywhere. Even though there are multiple different companies under ODG, everyone acts like a family. I have learned how to do many different types of reports and understand different types of drawings.
Cabell Saunders, Project Management and Estimating Intern

My favorite part of my internship has been working in the field as a project manager. It has allowed me to experience the challenges that come with running a large-scale project and building good relations with other groups on site, which I have enjoyed.
Adam Burke, Project Management and Estimating Intern

When it comes to business development at ODG, one thing I was eager to learn more about was the art of relationship building. I learned that the industry really runs on trust, communication, and long-term partnerships, and the team at ODG does an incredible job at it. My favorite part has been getting the chance to travel with ODG affiliates to varying customer outings. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to help build relationships with professionals in other companies and in different fields. Through these experiences, I have learned how to carry conversations and communicate better in person. I’ve gotten comfortable with starting conversations and asking the right questions in every setting.
Tanner Davoud, Business Development Intern

ODG has a culture that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and a willingness to help others. I’ve learned a great deal about project coordination, issue mitigation, and the importance of communication in keeping a job running efficiently. What I’ve enjoyed most about my role is being able to contribute to a project as significant as the new Tennessee Titans stadium while learning from people who are genuinely invested in my career development.
Justin Jasper, Field Management Intern

I enjoyed the new challenges I faced throughout my internship in the field. It was very different compared to anything I have experienced so far. Seeing firsthand how people work in the field gave me a deeper appreciation for what they do. This internship helped me grow my confidence and grow professionally with the new experiences and relationships I gained.
Broc Wolford, Field Management Intern
