The Black Safety Vest at ODG

At the Old Dominion Group, we are devoted to ensuring every employee returns home safely every day. This is why we take great pride in having hardworking, passionate employees who acknowledge the value of Safety. The Black Safety Vest honor was created by our Safety Director, Anabella Perez in 2016 to award recognition to those exemplifying superior standards for the Safety & Health Department. It is a privilege and an honor to receive a Black Safety Vest at The Old Dominion Group.

This honor is given to a team member who goes above and beyond their job description to make certain they and their peers are meeting our Safety standards. Maintaining job site and worker safety is a full-time job for our Safety Team and seeing someone with a Black Vest exhibits this superior honor. The vest also represents their constant dedication and commitment to safety.

To earn a black safety vest, one must work with no injuries, have superb performance following OSHA, company policies and regulations, correct use of equipment and tools, attend training, and supervise peers to confirm others are working safely. This Black Safety vest proves that safety goes beyond just oneself.

The first field recipient to be honored with a Black Vest is Darwin Linares in 2016. Today, more than 30 employees have received this vest for their attentiveness to safety.

The recipients of the Black Vest have been several of our Construction Managers and Superintendents for their active support in keeping our field free from known hazards.

A safe job site environment leads to efficiency and quality in our work. From everyone at ODG, thank you for always guaranteeing a safe job site environment. Congratulations on earning your Black Vests!
