The Old Dominion Group Advocates the Impact Across Local Communities

Since 1981, with a statewide presence in Virginia, The Old Dominion Group has been passionate about empowering our community. To “serve our community” is ingrained in our core values because we truly believe in the power of coming together for the greater good. Building and growing a company that is community and family-oriented has been and will continue to be part of our promise – Do What You Say You Will Do (DWYSYWD).

The spirit of giving has always motivated us. We take pride in supporting causes that our own employees and customers collaborate with. Being involved with the community not only strengthens others’ lives, but it also transforms your own.

Internal Impact

In 2018, the Davoud Foundation was formed to assist anyone within the Old Dominion Group and their families. Our employees play a vital role, and we are proud to support our own in any time of crisis or need. Each year we proudly announce the funds that are allocated to the foundation at our annual “All Hands Meeting” with the entire group.

Supporting Nonprofit Organizations

ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation has become a primary charity of choice at ODG all year-round. The ASK Foundation is a non-profit organization that aids families of children with cancer to provide emotional, financial, and educational support. Each year, the non-profit hosts many fundraising opportunities, and ODG has been a proud presenting sponsor.

This year, at the ASK Above & Beyond Gala, we witnessed everyone working together to empower the community. The gala set another impactful, record-breaking goal and raised $3 Million for research and support services. We are so proud to play a valuable part in helping the ASK organization. The organization’s growth over the years has been exponential, and nothing makes us more honored than to be able to say that ODG has played a meaningful role in that growth.

Autism Society Central Virginia (ASCV) is a local organization that provides helpful education, advocacy, services, and resources for individuals with autism and their families. This organization is also close to our hearts. ODG employees give back to the community and advocate support. Katee Elam (Executive Assistant) won the Mission Amplifier Award at the ASCV 2023 gala. We take pride in having team members that make such great impacts. The gala raised $300,000 to support our local autism community. This year, ODG will have a team at the 5K & Family Fun Day, already fundraising over $5,000 for the cause.

Mustaches For Kids is a volunteer-run organization that collectively grow mustaches and solicit donations to support local charities. Scott Armstrong (VP of Operations) at Old Dominion Firestopping is a board member of the non-profit and has participated for the past 10 years. Many of our team within ODG join the cause, last year ODG had 17 participants and raised just over $87,000. We are proud to support and be a part of such a great cause.

Virginians For Veterans is a charity organization formed to support Virginian veteran support groups for active and retired veterans. Founder of Old Dominion Insulation, Roddy Davoud serves as the main chairman to advocate V4V.  Richard Lee, President of Old Dominion Firestopping and William Byrd, COO of the Old Dominion Group also serve on the board to recruit funds and advocate this organization. Our leaders serve as an inspiration, and the impacts at V4V will forever be a part of the Old Dominion Group legacy.

It’s what we do!

The Old Dominion Group plays a vital role, as we continue to shine a light on all positive aspects of local causes. Here are a few other charitable organizations we proudly support.

There are no words to express the gratification we feel as our employees come together to play an instrumental role in helping others in need.  By actively engaging with and contributing to these various causes, we can make a positive impact and create a better world.
